Injury Incident During Tarmac Transport – Request for Review
To Whom It may Concern
I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred while being transported by passenger bus to a Delta aircraft, which resulted in an injury.
At the time of the incident, I was on a passenger bus that was transporting us to the aircraft. The bus was considerably full. Another passenger bus was positioned ahead of us and appeared ready to depart, and our bus moved forward to wait behind it.
Moments later, as passengers were preparing to exit, our bus began moving again but then came to an abrupt and forceful stop. The sudden stop caused multiple passengers to lose their balance—one child began crying due to the situation. Initially, it seemed as though the driver had braked suddenly; however, we later learned that the bus had struck something.
During the abrupt stop, I was thrown into one of the holding poles, hitting the left side of my torso and left breast with significant force. After exiting the bus, there was no explanation or apology provided by the driver or staff as we proceeded to board the plane.
Once onboard, I informed a flight attendant that I had been injured. She kindly provided an ice pack, which I applied immediately. Despite this, the pain and soreness persisted throughout the remainder of the flight and upon arrival in Seattle.
As of today, I continue to experience ongoing pain in my left mid-torso and breast area. I am unable to raise my left arm without discomfort and cannot lift a backpack or purse without pain. Even simple actions, such as laughing, aggravate the injury. I have also noticed slight swelling and frequently find myself supporting my side to alleviate discomfort.
I am concerned about both the incident itself and the lack of communication or acknowledgment from staff initially at the time. Later on a staff came on board and apologized in behalf of the driver and advised us to report the incident on the CDG website. I kindly request that this matter be reviewed and that appropriate follow-up be provided.
Please let me know the next steps, including how to proceed with documenting this injury and any claims process, if applicable.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Charmaine
